How do I restart my Roku device?Updated 2 years ago

When you experience technical issues with your Roku device, a system restart can help your device return to normal.

Note: Turning your device off and on isn’t the same as a system restart. 

You can restart your Roku device manually or in the app. 

To manually restart your Roku Device:

1. Go to your Roku device. 
2. Find the power adapter, then unplug it.
3. Wait 10 seconds. 
4. Plug the power adapter back into the device.

Now your Roku Device is restarted. 

To restart your Roku device in the app:

1. Turn on your Roku device and make sure it’s connected to WiFi.
2. Go to the Home Screen. 
3. Scroll and select Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Power. 
6. Select System restart, then click Restart. 

Now your Roku device is restarted.
